Purple Freesia Wedding Flowers

We get so many requests for purple wedding flowers and freesias are one of our favourites. You can see here in this photo the beautiful lilac ‘Blue Moon’ freesia in a bridal bouquet that I recently made.

This stunning lilac colour works really well in bridesmaid’s bouquets when the dresses are a deep shade of purple. The lilac colour stands out against the dark colour of the dress.

Freesia wedding flowers are wonderful for so many reasons; they smell fantastic, their strong delicate fragrance that is not overpowering. Freesias are very popular choice to go with the recent trend of vintage wedding flowers as they are old-fashioned blooms.

My favourite reason for using freesias is they have pretty delicate petals but really strong robust stems. This means they can be used in handtied posy bouquets, shower bouquets and table arrangements.

Other popular purple wedding flowers are lissianthus, veronica, anemones, hyacinths, aster and alliums.

Floor Standing Candle Stands

These beautiful silver floor standing candle stands make a great alternative to pedestal arrangements for a civil ceremony.

You can see here how I have placed them either side of the registrar's table during the wedding ceremony.

In this photo they have been decorated with red 'Passion' roses and lime green chrysanthemums.

Cherry Blossom Wedding

It’s not surprising that cherry blossom has become a great theme for wedding decorations, it’s just so beautiful and really sums up springtime.

I’ve just got back from delivering wedding flowers, and couldn’t resist taking this quick photo of the beautiful cherry blossom trees at the wedding venue.

Right now the trees are weighed down with these heavy, delightfully scented blooms.

My van was also covered in pink blossom petals, which looked just like confetti as I drove off.

If you are planning a springtime wedding then cherry blossom may be a great theme for you. The good news is there are so many delightful wedding accessories for this wedding theme.

You can find everything from invitations, place setting cards (like these ones seen in the photo below), favors and centerpieces all based around this beautiful blossom.

Here is a link to one of my favourite sites that sells lots of wonderful cherry blossom themed wedding accessories.

Candelabras As Wedding Centrepiece Decorations

Candelabra stands look stunning as wedding centrepiece decorations but sometimes they can work out quite expensive. But don’t worry as you now have more options of hiring candelabras with more affordable decorations.

Wedding centrepiece decorations that feature lots of flower or foliage content can cost quite a lot of money and eat into your budget. Candelabras can be really quite expensive when they are decorated in ornate full displays of fresh flowers. This is because they take so long to make and of course use a lot of material.

However at Pure Botanics they have come up with a couple of designs that still look really effective as wedding centrepiece decorations but don’t use as many flowers. This means they don’t take so long to prepare and work out far more affordable.

Here you can see one decorated in the cute feathered pink gerbera mini. They are hanging in small ornate glass bottles and look really effective.

Find out more about how you could use candelabras as your wedding centrepieces.

Anemone Bridal Bouquet

I just love anemones and they make the most beautiful wedding flowers.

I can’t decide whether I like them so much because of their deep rich vibrant colours or because of their stunning black centres. Maybe it’s both elements, which makes these flowers so unique and stunning.

Here you can see a bridal bouquet of anemones in mixed colours.

If you would like to create this bouquet for your own wedding, then follow the very simple step-by-step instructions on i wedding decorations.

Anemones are in season from the autumn until late spring so make a great choice for winter weddings.

Yellow Wedding Colour Theme

As spring has finally sprung and we are celebrating Easter I couldn’t resist showing you this beautiful bright yellow mimosa flower.

It really is quite unusually and reminds me of tiny delicate yellow pompoms! I’ve simply arranged it in small bunches placed in glass vases decorated with coordinating ribbons.

Small arrangements like this are great for decorating side or occasional tables, buffet tables or bar areas. As the vintage theme is really popular at the moment with brides, small arrangements in vases work well for this wedding theme. Grouping together small vases in the centre of the reception tables can look really effective. You don’t even have to use the same vases or flowers as long as you stick to a colour theme.

If you are planning a spring wedding theme you might want to think about incorporating mimosa into your wedding flowers. As well as it’s stunning yellow colour mimosa also has a really unique fragrance.

Tall Winter Table Centerpieces

I've just finished working on this wonderful winter wedding that you can see in the photo here at Walton Hall, Warwickshire.

The couple choose deep burgundy red as their colour theme. I produced these stunning tall table centerpieces that fitted in with their colour theme. We teamed it with ivory and lime green to lift the rich red.

We placed the beautiful deep red black baccara rose inside the vases.

These table arrangements really suit this room as it has incredibly high ceilings and very ornate features.

Here is some more information and photo's of weddings flowers we have produced at Walton Hall.
