Vintage Style Wedding Bouquet

Here you can see a natural vintage style wedding bouquet that I created for one of our recent brides.

Loose posy bouquets with lots of different shapes and sizes of flowers have become very popular with the recent trend for weddings with a vintage theme.

By creating bouquets with different flower shapes and textures you get a much more natural style of bouquet. This one makes me think that it's been picked from an English country garden in springtime.

Peony Buttonhole

Peonies can be made into buttonholes to coordinates with a peony bridal bouquet. Here you can see one that I made for a groom last spring. The bride had a posy bouquet of white peonies, roses and eucalyptus and I made this buttonhole to coordinates with the bouquet. The rest of the gents wore white rose buttonholes.

Grooms often like a flower that coordinated with the bride’s bouquet but that is slightly different to the rest of the gent’s, so that theirs stands out more and why not. We always make the brides bouquet different to the bridesmaids so that it’s more special, and we can do the same for the groom.

Candle Wedding Centerpieces

Candle wedding centrepieces can really add a romantic touch to your wedding decorations. Here you can see one I recently created using different sizes of church candles decorated with colourful rose petals. It’s so easy to add rose petals that match your own personal wedding colour theme. If you can’t source fresh rose petals you can always use freeze dried petals or silk rose petals.

It doesn’t really matter what time of the year you are getting married candles can add real ambiance to a wedding reception. If you choose the ones I used in the photo above these will give you many more hours of burning time than you will actually need so there won’t be any worry about them not lasting.

Sometimes the simplest decorations can be the most effective. Here is a link to my website with more ideas for candle wedding centrepieces.

Sunflower Wedding Bouquets

I was delighted to receive this photo this morning in which you can see the sunflower wedding bouquet that I created for Emma (the bride).

As soon as she contacted me to discuss her wedding flowers she was certain she wanted sunflowers. In her wedding bouquet I combined sunflowers with white bouvardia, freesias and stems of wheat to create this beautiful natural handtied posy bouquet.

The sunflower bouquet was finished off with a collar of fatsia leaves, I think you’ll agree it looked wonderful at this summer wedding.

I continued with the sunflower wedding theme through to her wedding centrepieces.
