We get so many requests for purple wedding flowers and freesias are one of our favourites. You can see here in this photo the beautiful lilac ‘Blue Moon’ freesia in a bridal bouquet that I recently made.This stunning lilac colour works really well in bridesmaid’s bouquets when the dresses are a deep shade of purple. The lilac colour stands out against the dark colour of the dress.
Freesia wedding flowers are wonderful for so many reasons; they smell fantastic, their strong delicate fragrance that is not overpowering. Freesias are very popular choice to go with the recent trend of vintage wedding flowers as they are old-fashioned blooms.
My favourite reason for using freesias is they have pretty delicate petals but really strong robust stems. This means they can be used in handtied posy bouquets, shower bouquets and table arrangements.
Other popular purple wedding flowers are lissianthus, veronica, anemones, hyacinths, aster and alliums.
